Dr. Caffrey has always loved working with children and is deeply committed to the health of her patients. She knows that early positive experiences at the dentist can set the foundation for a lifetime of oral health, and she strives to make every child feel comfortable and confident in the dental chair.
Before dental school, Dr. Caffrey studied music history at Barnard College and gave flute lessons to children. Later on, she pursued her growing interest in healthcare and received her Doctor of Dental Surgery from Columbia University. Given her background and love of pediatrics, it was an obvious choice to specialize in pediatric dentistry. Dr. Caffrey completed a two-year post-graduate residency in pediatric dentistry at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C. before beginning her career in private practice.
As a pediatric dentist, Dr. Caffrey aims to help her patients take pride in their teeth and to make healthier decisions. She hopes to encourage families to look for ways to incorporate healthier practices into their daily routines so that good oral health becomes a natural way of life.
When she’s not working, Dr. Caffrey enjoys spending family time with her husband Seth, her son Julian and her dog Annie. After living in Philadelphia and New York City, Dr. Caffrey is enjoying her relatively recent move to the Washington, D.C. area and all that the nation’s capital has to offer. She loves going to concerts, vegetarian dining, and travel.
