Dr. Liu will make every effort to administer local anesthetics (novocaine) in a gentle and comfortable manner to his patients. We understand that some treatments come with inevitable pain to bare through, so our goal is to make you feel as comfortable as possible. As far as the duration of numbness and the kind of drug that was used, circumstances vary from patient to patient.

Usually the drug’s effects will wear off after two to three hours and parents will need to monitor their child. In the event that children may eat too soon, the reason we advise against it is because chewing and biting of the inner cheeks or tongue may cause injury.
